Montego Upstream Services was awarded a piping hook-up subcontract for Seplat Petroleum’s oben gas plant expansion project by DBN.
The Oben Field is located in OML 4 in Edo state, The block covers an area of 267 square kilometres, about 78 km NE of Warri, Delta State and 90km South of Benin-city in Orhionmwon Local Government. The Field was discovered in April 1972 and the site lies between Eastings (5 52’ 3.718”E) and Northings (6 0’ 39.296”N). The Oben field delivers 90mmscf into the gas pipeline owned by NGC, a subsidiary of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) and which is the country’s main gas transporter.

Montego is actively involved in the on-going Oben Gas plant expansion, installation & commissioning project which is part of an ongoing plant upgrade that is designed to extend the lifespan of the plant by another 20 years and also achieve specification of the West African Gas Pipeline (WAGP).
Montego Upstream Services is responsible for piping fabrication and hook-up services for this facility, the services being rendered include: Welding and Installation of all hook-up spools and tie in spools, Pressure testing and Non-destructive testing, Flushing and Touch-up painting.
